MISSOULA- Two of the Garden City's biggest rivals tipped off on the basketball court Thursday with Big Sky traveling across town to Hellgate.
The Hellgate girls were looking for their first conference win while Big Sky was looking to continue their recent hot streak.
Big Sky wasted no time getting out to the fast start here in the first quarter with Dani Baker drilling the trey big sky up by three early.
Moments later its Big Sky again, this time Elle Tinkle was there with the tough board and put back as the Eagles went on to win by a final score of 50-32.
The boys teams also tangled Thursday. Picking it up in the second quarter, Hellgate was looking to add to their lead before the half as Brendan Jones hit the three to put Hellgate up 24-7.
Hellgate showed some great teamwork in the third quarter with a pass from Brady Henthorn going to Kyle Booi in mid-air who then hit the layup.
Hellgate took the guys matchup by a final score of 57-25.
