MISSOULA- Missoula County Public Schools administrators are working on reassigning the C.S. Porter Middle School principal to a different position in the district.

District officials say that Gail Chandler didn't violate any school policy or do anything illegal and that the decision is simply an administrative change.

MCPS Region Three Executive Director Karen Allen says she's not aware if Chandler is working for the district in another capacity at this time, but she is being paid until she's reassigned to a new position.

Allen says she can't say why the district decided to make the change, because they have to keep personnel issues private.

Julie Hainline, a 20 year veteran educator for MCPS is currently serving as an interim principal at the school until that position is permanently filled.

C.S. Porter Middle School serves 460 students.
