HAMILTON- The Hamilton School District is considering putting cameras on its school buses after a student pulled out a knife on the bus last month.
The incident happened on January 12th when Hamilton Police say a high school student brought the knife and pulled it out during a food fight.
Officers say the boy never threatened the two junior high girls and he never unfolded the knife, but two of the students involved in the incident were charged according to police.
One of them was charged with assault and the other one with disorderly conduct, but the officer couldn't specify which student faced what charge.
Hamilton School Superintendent Duby Santee says "appropriate measures" were taken against the students involved, but he can't discuss the details.
The school district will be re-negotiating its contract with the bus company this week with Santee saying that he plans to discuss the possibility of putting cameras on the bus with the school board and the bus company.
