Sentencing due in horse abuse case

HAMILTON - A pair of Georgia men who were found guilty last week of abusing horses on a pack trip through the Bitterroot back in 2008 are expected to be sentenced on Wednesday.

Defendant Curtis Heydon was found guilty of 10 counts of animal abuse, while his son Craig was found guilty of nine counts of animal abuse.

The trial lasted a full week at the Ravalli County Courthouse, but it took jurors only three hours on Friday to come to a verdict.
